1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to StudyMeneer, a student study companion provided by Bokano Tech (Pty) Ltd t/a StudyMeneer (Registration No: 2026/649274/07) ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using StudyMeneer, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility & School Learners

StudyMeneer is designed for high school (Grades 8–12) and higher education students in the Republic of South Africa. If you are under the age of 18, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to create an account and use this service, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

3. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

4. Educational & AI Tutoring Disclaimer

StudyMeneer provides AI-assisted study tools, summarisation, flashcards, and practice quizzes. Meneer is an AI study assistant and not an accredited examination board or official curriculum provider. While we strive for high accuracy tailored to South African curricula (CAPS/IEB), AI-generated outputs may occasionally contain errors. Students are advised to verify critical facts, formulas, and syllabus requirements against official textbooks and teachers.

5. Device-Local Data Storage

Heavy files—such as uploaded textbook PDFs and recorded lecture audio—are stored strictly within your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your device. Clearing your browser storage or signing out on a shared device removes these local files.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse StudyMeneer, reverse engineer our services, attempt to bypass AI rate limits or security controls, or upload unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.
